Our Work

The Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Virginia seeks to build mutually beneficial partnerships between the University and the surrounding community.

The Center for Community Partnerships works through: 

• Community-Engaged Scholarship to transform research practices so that local communities drive and benefit from research efforts,
• Partnerships to build and support mutually beneficial partnerships locally and throughout the Commonwealth, and
• College and Career Access, empowering youth by facilitating access to better educational opportunities. 

As UVA operates as a good neighbor to the community, it gains a reputation for high quality community-engaged scholarship and grant funding, attracting students and faculty and invigorating the University. 

By sharing power with UVA, the community will gain resources and rebuild trust in the University, nurturing authentic partnerships with The Center for Community Partnerships and strengthening the Center's foundation.
