Background
DeVon joined the Center for Community Partnerships in 2023 as College and Career Access Program Manager. He brings more than a decade of experience in education and community engagement, along with a passion for team working and dream working alongside community members.
Programs
At the Center for Community Partnerships and through Starr Hill Pathways, DeVon leads the development and management of strategic partnerships that support scholars in exploring post-secondary options and career opportunities. His work includes cultivating partnerships, expanding engagement opportunities, managing communications, co-creating programs, coordinating joint initiatives, and evaluating outcomes of partnerships.
Prior to this role, DeVon served in UVA’s Division of Student Affairs and contributed to the launch of the Public Service Pathways program. He also served as a Community Fellow for the International Residential College. Before moving to Charlottesville, he worked as a Community Engagement Specialist for World Relief in Sacramento, California, and as an adjunct lecturer at Southeastern University.
