The Education Research team is committed to community-engaged scholarship that practices humility, mutualism, and authenticity in research structures, data collection/analysis, and publication/dissemination.

As our work focuses on youth, we believe in prioritizing their voices in the data we collect and in how we present it to external audiences. We strive to do this through building relationships with students and their families, collecting both qualitative and quantitative data, member-checking, and supporting youth-participatory action research projects.

The following manual outlines the structures and practices of the education research team. Members of this project include staff at the Center for Community Partnerships at UVA, faculty and graduate students, K-12 education partners, and community members.

In this manual, you will find research values, team structures, decision-making trees, authorship and crediting practices, feedback and review processes, and discussions and practices for author order.
