The interactive Workshop on Community-Engaged Research on Wednesday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at Ridley Hall, Room 302, will explore how a people-first approach can strengthen public interest technology.
Hosted by the Center for Community Partnerships at UVA and sponsored by UVA's Public Interest Technology-University Network, this session will help participants build a shared understanding of community-engaged research through core practices such as practicing humility, pursuing mutual benefit, and building authentic partnerships. Through examples and scenarios, participants will reflect on people-first and technology-first approaches and consider how core practices can inform their own research and collaborative work.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 1, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Ridley Hall, Room 302. Faculty and graduate students interested in community-engaged research, public interest technology, and collaborative partnerships are encouraged to attend.
Workshop attendees will leave with practical insights and strategies for centering community voice in research and innovation.
