CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19) -- A major new partnership was announced on Wednesday involving the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle County and the University of Virginia, with the goal of making local communities safer through the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative.

Today’s announcement is a key recommendation of the Community Safety Working Group, a regional group convened as part of the President's Council on UVA-Community Partnerships.
