Madelyn Mathai is a 2nd year PhD student at the UVA School of Data Science. She is currently completing coursework while serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.  She is a member of Aikyam Lab led by Dr. Chirag Agarwal, focusing on multi-modal AI research. Her projects strive to develop new data/feature attribution techniques that can explain the behavior of generative models, improving their reliability and trustworthiness to high stakes applications.

Madelyn holds a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania with minors in Mathematics, Survey Research & Data Analytics.
