Sydney Beverly
Community Safety Research Assistant
Sydney Beverly is a second-year Master of Public Policy (MPP) student at the University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. Her academic training spans ethics, economics, and research methods, with a focus on equity, institutional governance, and policy design. Her work examines how systems of rules and enforcement shape access, dignity, and opportunity for marginalized populations, particularly at the intersection of sport, law, and social institutions.
Sydney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Virginia Tech and is a former collegiate athlete. Her interests include racial and gender equity, sports law and governance, research ethics, and the use of sport-based frameworks to advance accountability, rehabilitation, and social justice.
